This is it???

So Neil, THIS is the book your agent got you a huge advance for? WOW! The editor who bought this got fired, right?

Did you read it? I considered reading it a couple of times just to see what the fuss was about, but then I just watch the trailer for Lady Magdalene's and go "Lol no, no way in hell somebody who wrote, directed and produced that POS could have written anything worth reading".

Yes. Back when I used to write book reviews, I learned how to use a form of speed-reading so I could get through terrible books and still be able to review them touching on all the bad points, and the good points if any. Neil's book has a few interesting ideas, but the writing is horrible. As I said before, I'm sure the editor who bought this book is no longer in the publishing business!

I'm curious how many books he actually sold. What do you think the ballpark figure would be? 1000?
I never heard of the guy or book before he became the laughingstock of IMDB, but when I google him, all hits are from his own pages or blogs(or amazon editorial page). Nobody aside from Schulman himself seems to have taken the time to write anything about him.

Dude, why is your account disabled again? Can you still post?
You probably should give up spamming the pro boards. The admins probably don't like that...
Do you have to pay the pro fee every time your account get disabled?

Yeah, even if Mark is completely nuts, he seems to be a loyal friend and a decent enough bloke. Compared to Schulman's lies, self-importance, arrogance, pompousness etc.

In this thread or this board? Can't see any deleted posts of mine in this thread.

I got tired of writing book reviews. In most cases the payment isn't much. You get to keep the books you review, but if you don't like the books, then you really don't want to keep them, so that isn't much of a benefit.

So, how many copies of Alongside Night have you sold? And I mean sold, not given away for free or sold to buddies. Can't help to notice that you carefully avoid to answer that question...

So you are too ashamed to divulge that information yourself?

lol, how convenient that that page doesn't have a visitors counter.
You're twisting, spinning and twirling would make a prima ballerina jealous!
Have you ever managed to come up with proof for anything these past weeks without just pulling numbers and awards out of your ass?

Thanks for the information, Neil. So you say that you don't know if Drew Hart is still working in the publishing industry. I'm not saying that buying your book was his only mistake, perhaps Mr. Hart overpaid for other books which also failed to earn back their advance money.

So Laurence Freundlich, moved over to a division of Simon & Schuster. Sometimes people are transferred to other jobs because they prove to be incompetent at the jobs they currently have, and are then given a second chance to perform better elsewhere. However, since Mr. Freundlich again made the same mistake of buying a book from you which failed to earn back the advance money, perhaps he also no longer works in the publishing industry.

So Susan Allison at Ace outbid Jim Baen for the rights to your book and made it the lead science fiction title of the month, and the last time you checked she had become the editor-in-chief at Berkley. Obviously Ms. Allison made enough smart choices in her career by buying books which sold well and actually earned back MORE than the advances paid to the writers, that she was able to survive the blunder of overpaying for your book.

Neil, if we disregard the books you have self-published, or published with vanity printers, have any of your books ever earned back the money you were paid for them? Have any of your books ever warranted a second print run? Have any of your books ever won any LEGITIMATE awards? No, your local family book club award does NOT count!
