Seriously, the entire cast looks older than the average student on a college campus. The extras are the worst. Some of the high school student background extras look in their 30's...
I understand a lot of these corney juvenile type movies have older casting due to nudity, but this is a PG-13 film.

Yeah, this pretty much ruined the movie for me - everybody was just far too old and didn't even remotely look like high schoolers. It's like the casting director wasn't even trying.
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
I take it you've never seen the original Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990), they all were older than the characters they portrayed.
The premiere 90210 episode in 1990, Jennie Garth was 18, Tori Spelling was 17, Shannen Doherty was 19. The men including Brian Green were 17, Jason Priestly 21, and then Luke Perry 24 and Ian Ziering 26. The girls were within a couple years, guys fluctuate more as they hit puberty a couple years later.
By contrast, most of the characters in The DUFF are 8-10 years older than who they're portraying. I'm not accounting for the extras, which look remarkably older.

And Gabrielle Carteris was 29 at the series premiere, and she's one of ther 6 who have appeared in both the series premiere and finale. That show lasted for 10 seasons!
