Anyone here see Easy A?

I was enjoying this movie until the similarities became unbearable. Never mind that it's a teen movie where the girl likes a boy but ends up with her guy friend, that's your average cliche and has been done plenty of times before, I don't care about that. I also don't mind the shared theme of reputations and labels, because that's a pretty worldwide teenage worry. BUT:

-- Above-average looking female protagonist is somehow ignored by all the guys at her school

-- The 'hotter chick' fakeout at the start to introduce the character

-- Obnoxious and over-used voiceover which turns out to be from an in-movie piece of prose that she then shares with everyone (in this film it was an article, in Easy A a webcast)

-- Seeing everyone's reactions and comments as they read/view said piece of prose towards the end of the film

-- The Breakfast Club references in said monologue

-- Sharing a connection with a teacher who helps her figure some stuff out

-- A couple of the same songs ('Sexy Silk' and 'Bad Reputation') included on the soundtrack

-- An easily-avoidable fight with her friend/s, leaving her completely friendless and ostracised save for the male friend

-- That scene where the mannequin video/rumour goes viral and the camera flashes past all the students receiving it on their phones, slowing down to see their reactions, set to music (that one is almost exactly the same)

-- The clueless principal

-- The fact that their school mascot is/was the Blue Devils

-- The date the protagonist thought was the 'big one' going horribly wrong, enough that she has to storm out and cry over it

-- A 'special place' where the more serious and reflective scenes take place (Bianca's Think Rock and the valley where Olive sits on the hood of her car, respectively)

-- The romantic lead using her window as she's voiceover-ing to tell her to come down before they ride/drive off into their little happy ending

-- A goddamn SEWING MONTAGE!! There should not be a sewing montage in more than one teen movie post-2000. That's an excessive amount of sewing monatges.

I'm just saying. Maybe I've seen Easy A too many times but so much about this film borrowed pretty heavily from it.

I'm watching the movie now, and thought the same thing when I saw it in theaters, and came to IMDb just to see if anyone else noticed the same thing! It really irks me, I just don't see how this could be an accident since someone making a teen film is most likely familiar with others! BAnd if they're trying to be subtle, it's not working! It feels like copying to me (unless it's the same director/staff, etc., but that would be even worse to me!). This is crazy, and you're definitely now the only one who sees it!
