Why was Becca's friend being such a bitch to her?

During the first half of the film, I get that they were good friends. But sometime later (I think after they came out of the movie theatre), she suddenly turned on her -- making Becca daydream of stabbing her in the chest. Then soon after, everyone else went on her side, all bragging of winning the king/queen vampire pagaent!
Wow, what was up with some kind of 'friend' like her?

remember she said that she is going to pretend to be Becca's friend and that if Becca ever touches her boyfriend she'll cut her.

Because Anna Kendrik's character in Twilight actually acts like that.
