The Investigation

I understand that this is a biography on 2pac's life. But, considering the case is technically still open won't it fall short of expectations? What if the film was about the investigation? I think it would draw more viewers if that was the case. Something like True Detective. Flash back and forth. Tell the story. He was only 25 years old. So, why was a seemingly intelligent african american man killed in cold blood at the age of 25? Was it race? Was it greed?

Interesting slant on Tupac's life. I think this is going to be one of those BORING "paint by the numbers" BIOS. YOU can pretty tell by the Face Book Photo Stills.

That would be a great show on FX like The People v OJ Simpson....flashbacks along with facts and current events would be awesome.

It takes people with vision though. From i have seen of the movie it looks like one big music video...alot of what they are showing is stuff we have seen in countless documentaries and live performances.

Sigh. You can't tell people in charge nothing though they act like they know it all or atleast what is best but that's nothing ego.

Straight Outta Compton was good. Much better than Notorious. The only problem with a 2pac story is the fact that it remains unsolved. Would anyone be ballsy enough to fictionalize a series based on actual events though? Tupac and Biggie is a really good documentary on the murders. But in the end that's just hype. Death is death. I find it hard to believe that a black male who isn't famous can get gunned down and police find the shooter within ten hours. But, a rising icon is gunned down in cold blood and no one seems to have a clue?

Back in the 90's most cops were raised by a generation that lived through the civil rights movement. So anyone that was raised by parents or grandparents, aunt, uncle, that opposed desegregation, well those feelings of hatred will be passed down. Today police have to think twice about shooting a person of color. But, in the 90's? I don't think they'd have the slightest hesitation.

Tupac's murder was set up by the F.B.I. and C.I.A. He was killed by a MK Ultra Assassin. The powers that be know who
killed Tupac, they are not sharing it with US! The drive-by stunts was all cover to throw off what really happened to him. We will find out who killed PAC very soon! Give it about 5 years TOPS!

Yeah but why couldn't we write a sci-fi movie about this right here. Two people sending messages back and forth. What if in the end, the viewer never sees what year it is. God created A myth to show people how deep his love is. Tupac will always exist because time is forever floating in space. Love is something to be shared. Not denied. But we mustn't speak until our eyes are opened.

Y'all need to watch the Murder Rap documentary on Tupac and Biggie. Tupac was killed on some gang stuff.

No conspiracy, no white man this, white man that. Just hood black on black crime.

Tupac swung on a shooter. A shooter is a person that ain't gonna fight with ya, but will shoot with ya literally. Plenty of them in the clubs, at the malls etc. They are usually young thugs.

Sorry to say but that's COVER BULL SHYT! This so called Hood Black on Black Crime is what they want US to believe and we are falling for the OKE-DOKE!

Once again...Tupac was killed by an MK Ultra Assassin. Someone very close to him, shot him in the back of the head twice execution style. Over 20 years the MEDIA has been feeding US lies. If it was Black on Black Crime, they would have found and arrested the Shooter.

NOW they continue to bring out all these videos, investigations and lies to toy with our emotions.

TUPAC'S murder was bigger than a drive by! The powers that be killed Huey Newton and reduced it to a random shooting. Please wake up Ladies and Gents!

Why would the government kill Pac?

Pac didn't have as much love as he does until AFTER his death. Trust me, I was a big Pac fan ever since 2pacalypse now. And people in our own urban communities who like other rappers and thought Pac was just an overrated loud mouth wannabe thug punk of a rapper....the kind that gets in trouble wherever he went with his loud mouth.

I love Pac but peep #facts. If Pac didn't get killed in the drive by he would've been locked up for violation of probation since he was caught on tape in a fight. Sure went to jail for violation he was on that tape too.

YOU don't have a clue SO we have to agree to disagree on this issue. I have also been admirer of Tupac's Music for a long time as well. Since DU when he was featured with them followed by his first Studio Album.

Don't be silly now, Tupac might have been intelligent but he did ALOT of stupid sh/t in which he didn't really think through, associating himself with the Bloods and he and his pals beat up a Crip at the night of the shooting, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the connection.

I know that's what this film is about. I was saying that a film about the circumstances of his death would probably be more intriguing. I wasn't referring to a non-fiction film. I was giving ideas for a fictional Shakespearian inspired film.

lol, to be fair I remember 12 years ago there was talks of Sylvester Stallone directing and starring in the same story but it never kicked off... So it wasn't something that they just came up with out of the blue http://www.mtv.com/news/1472396/sylvester-stallone-making-movie-about-biggie-tupac-murders/

I think the Depp one is actually set in stone to happen though

And I'm guessing they thought with the release of ALL EYEZ ON ME (and the documentary MURDER RAP) Tupac will be a hot Topic for a while again so they can get free publicity off of that

A good father and a good outlaw can't settle inside the same man.

I don't think anyone could profit more on Tupac than the major record labels. If I'm right, I think he's sold the most records posthumously than any other recording artist. So, if I were Johnny Depp. I would have to ask myself those questions. Would a record label kill a man because they felt his life was worth more dead? Could it be possible that his death was staged and Tupac Shakur was placed in witness protection? I'm not saying there's any truth to that. But, if I was playing a detective. I wouldn't hesitate to question anything. I envision it sort of like the first season of Hannibal with Will Graham becoming the crime scene. I can hear Depp's voice in my head. Camera shutters. Clicks. Evidence being picked and placed in bags. Crime scene tape. Chatter. Background noise.

Google "Murder Rap" Watch it. It's not one of those *beep* conspiracy theory docs like Loose Change. It's legit. Its based on the investigation/book of a retired LAPD officer. I'm not easily influenced or convinced unless there is some real proof, but I believe in this documentary. All those other conspiracy theory doc's such as "Tupac Assassination: Conspiracy or Revenge" that Pac's bodyguard Frank Alexander made are all speculation and opinions.

From what I've seen in the trailer it looks like a very plausible scenario. I don't see any need for the conspiracy. Tupac and his entourage beat on a guy, his friends retaliate. But why all the nonsense of a cold case? Unless this was a decoy. Some cover up. Sort of like Jesse James Hollywood. Asked a friend who was in debt to Hollywood to kill someone to clear his debt. Who then would've made the call? And why was Tupac a target? I've seen every season of The Wire. Probably the most authentic crime drama ever made. Sure, it isn't over the top and theatrical but most things aren't. From what I gathered in interviews, soundbites, and lyrics. I could see how he might be a threat. Sometimes when I read lyrics to hit 'em up. I find them to be snitch like. Or I could see how one would interpret them as such. But before the media fueled "rap war" Pac didn't rap about that stuff. He rapped about the culture. Never mentioned selling crack unlike Biggie who boasted about his crimes. And if Biggie was in the game. He couldn't possibly get out of it.

IMDb please, don't punish me.

I doubt it. Having worked in criminal homicide for 25 years, I've come to realize that unsolved cases are not as dramatic as people make them seem. Usually the crime is solved the problem is getting witness testimonies and statements. Delays, appeals, law suits, intimidation, etc.

Take a look at movie like Mystic River. The scene is painted like a homicide but in the end it's accidental firearm discharge. Or even like season 5 of the wire. Spoilers if you ain't seen it. When Omar is killed. Omar sees Kenard walk in, but seeing just a little boy, pays no attention to him. Kenard shoots Omar in the side of the head, killing him. This brings closure to some of the foreshadowing in Season 3, as Kenard was the young boy Bunk witnessed imitating Omar at the Barksdale stash house shootout. He kills Omar but there's no motive behind it. He's just doing what he sees on a daily basis. Clearly he has no ties to criminal organization.

Still, pac was one of the rappers that made it out of the projects. Drive-by still a drive-by. Just a different scene. People were envious of him and probably had no problem selling him out. There's a human factor that is blinded by individual's idea of what glitz and glamour look like.
