Y'all some weirdos, it's well documented that movie have a 45 million dollar budget. And the movie is a theatre release. Y'all sound dumb calling the movie low budget. Stop hating and being negative!

It looks like a tv movie,this will be about as good as notorious if even that. I really wish it could be great but after John singleton jumped ship it became apparent that this would be straight to DVD or tv movie level. Don't matter if it opens in every theater in the nation, based on what they have shown just oozes cutrate low budget.

I said the logo looked low budget. That's not hating or being negative. I'm a fan of his music. Otherwise why would I be on this forum? I'm not gonna trash talk a movie. By the look of the trailer I would expect that this movie will be in the middle. Probably a step up from notorious since any movie that has Anthony Mackie as Tupac automatically makes the next one an improvement.

shareWell since the actor playing Tupac doesn't even sound like him (judging from trailer) it's only fair to assume that this won't live up to the hype. But I will definitely give it a chance and hope I'm wrong. The logo does look homemade though.

shareStraight Outta Compton's LOGO was not only more ARTISTIC but also PERSONAL. The young men playing N.W.A appear on the POSTER. They did it in classic BLACK and WHITE. It would have been nice if they had DEMETRIUS SHIPP JR. appear on the POSTER as TUPAC SHAKUR to give it a nice ICONIC FEEL like the movie "BUGSY". Even the ICONIC "X" for MALCOM X is more daring because the letter "X" means UNKNOWN and it creates MYSTERY.
The marketing was also GENIUS. The MOVIE STUDIO got everyone involved with the SOC POSTER/MOVIE because YOU could do your own MEME.

He was talking about title logo artwork not the poster itself, but still the logo for SOC was as you said artistic and personal. It's based off the parental advisory sticker, which...we'll do I need to explain that...

I was there as an extra. Nothing about this movie is cheap! We spent 12 hours filming the concert scene at house of Blues. 700 extras! It was amazing! The energy was insane! Then they got a fake B.I.G and Queen rapping for us and the crowd went nuts. I don't know if that will be in the movie but it may have been something special for us. We also filmed more and more concerts other days too. Learned how to do the humpty hump lol.
