Sucks

Singleton or Fuqua would have given us a good film, and 2Pac deserved a quality film. Unfortunately this Benny Boondoggle sounds like another creative differences and corruption mess that will give us a low buget POS even though it had a supposed 45 mil budget. The actor playing Pac looks like his long lost twin so maybe all is not lost..??

Correct. Don't count the movie out just yet. A lot of Tupac's friends and family were on set trying to make sure it gets done the right way.

My concern is not even Benny Boom, even if we are aware that he is a low level Director but he has Directed projects so he does know something. My problem is the Writers. Please convince me how two White Men are going to write about the struggles of a Black Man. I am not talking about an ordinary Black Man either. I am talking about Tupac Amaru Shakur whom was a target for the C.I.A. and F.B.I. since birth. I am talking about a man that went through it...the good, the bad, the ugly...Blood. Sweat. Tears. Someone who was from Black Panther Bloodline. A Revolutionary, Activist, Poet, Leader (he became a follower after he hooked up with Suge Knight), Rapper, Actor, Genius, Prophet, etc.

How are these two Men going to explore the many levels and complexities of TUPAC. Sorry...it is not going to happen, impossible...it will be average at best and written on a "superficial" level. I don't care how many family members and friends are involved in telling their stories about Tupac, etc. In the end, it is still written from their "voices" which will be on the surface. I am more afraid of the writing than Benny Boom directing.

Straight Outta Compton was written by two white people and it seemed to capture everything just fine. These two guys got the job probably because, dare I say, they can write. That's like saying we should discount anything written by someone that isn't the same race, gender, sexuality, etc. etc. because the writer is different.

A story about TUPAC is more complex than sugar coated Straight Outta Compton. This is how I feel and I am sticking to it! Nothing is going to change my opinion about this, not even YOU!

Wasn't trying to change your opinion. Just pointing out that you're judging a movie that hasn't come out yet and therefore neither of us have a clue how good/bad/accurate/inaccurate it is since neither of us have seen it. And based on what I've seen you posting, you probably never will. All I was saying is that one of the things you're judging the movie is the ethnicity of the two writers without giving them the benefit of the doubt that they might be competent enough writers to tell a story, no matter what that story is.

Maybe little brother, but twin? gtfo

It looks a bit better than expected based on the teaser, I'm sure it will be watchable but I don't really hear the passion in Tupac's voice when fakePac talks (based on the little footage I've seen at least)

Why are you keeping this curiosity door locked?

Fuqua? He hasn't made a good movie since Training Day. The Hughes Brothers would've been better or F Gary Gray.

I was there as an extra. Nothing about this movie is cheap! We spent 12 hours filming the concert scene at house of Blues. 700 extras! It was amazing! The energy was insane! Then they got a fake B.I.G and Queen rapping for us and the crowd went nuts. I don't know if that will be in the movie but it may have been something special for us. We also filmed more and more concerts other days too. Learned how to do the humpty hump lol.
