The teacher was no innocent victim here

I do find that he was conveniently oblivious to the girl's actions for the sake of the movie. I am watching it right now. He just got arrested. I hope that former friend of Devon's comes forward with what she knows.

Say what you want, this wasn't his fault.

girls like her are psychopaths and thrive on being careful to not let their true intentions show through. so it is easy to be fooled by her. she is also an only child with a single parent who is always working. she has this inept maid/housekeeper who can not do a thing she is hired to do correctly. it was not his intention to encourage or condone her feelings because she was just so good at hiding her true intentions.

and sometimes it is not about 'letting' the teachers socialize with students. many times this is all part of their intricate plan.

and he was in a bind with the daughter. if he went, then who would handle the practice? and if he went and something wrong happened at practice, who would be in charge or held responsible. regardless of whether or not devon 'created' this problem [him in a bind to pick up daughter], she returned to the school with the daughter and practice was still in full swing.

and I think along those lines, he was just so happy that his daughter had found another older person whom she liked.

and ex wife's funeral... this was also the mother of the daughter. she was friendly with the daughter and was most likely to be supportive for her. I don't think the daughter liked the brunette her father was seeing.


your last lines really irk me. being a teacher myself my job is held in the balance every day, even with tenure, over what an insane student or parent says about what 'their side of the story is'. there are two sides to every story and someone's life should not be immediately ruined because of some unstable minor or adult. and the parents who press charges without real proof, only what their blessed angelic children tell them, then they are just as insane as their children.



funny how often we have hs students this age babysitting for their teachers.

He let her pick his daughter up because she was there, he was stuck at school but he let her know it was NOT ok and that she should have told him so he could have left.

She is the one who went to the funeral, you can see he was shocked that she was there.

She stole the daughters pony, he called her and asked if she had it. She obviously said yes and MET them at the ice cream place, she invited herself to stay. He was being nice because his daughter seemed to like her, maybe he thought she could be a babysitter..who knows.

The girl was psycho from the start. She thought she could have anything she wanted and when he told her no that is when she made up the story of him sexually assaulting her. Things like this do happen and it makes it bad for the females who actually are assaulted.

when they are on the volley ball trip there is no way he would be allowed to take all them girls alone.i work in a school and any trips there has to be a mixture of female and male teachers and there are not allowed to go alone. also when he was on the phone and Devon knocked on the door he had no shirt he said I have to go one of the girls is at the door he should of put a shirt on before answering.

im with what other people said, plus he was just being nice...too nice i guess? after the funeral he even mentioned to her 'i think you misunderstood our relationship, i never meant to make you think it was more than teacher/student" or something to that affect.

The more personalities you have the less boring you are!
