It's not that the wife doubts her faith in Him, it's that she has no faith at all because she's not a believer. What she thinks makes her a Christian is just wrong. Her tone wreaks of smugness when she declares that she is a Christian because she attends church every Sunday and teaches Sunday School. Her faith is in herself, not in the Lord. She's lost and doesn't even know it.
Jesus: Hank, do you really think that you're going to save, let alone restore your marriage by putting your wife's wishes above mine? She wants to break up your marriage, Hank. I want to save it. You've got to be listening to me.
Katherine: You know, maybe the two of you should get married and just leave me out of it.
Jesus: Katherine, you've been out of it for way too long. It's time that you and I met.
Katherine: Are you saying I'm not a Christian?
Jesus: I'm sorry... you're not.
Katherine: How dare you! I go to church every Sunday! I even teach Sunday School.
Jesus: I know. The sad part is that you would have peace in your heart today if you had half the faith of some of those kids in your class.
There's a difference between Katherine and Nick. Katherine may not be the believer SHE thinks she is in her own mind, but at least she's not rejecting the message. Her heart is still open to receive Him and at the end of the movie, she does. On the other hand, Nick's heart is hardened and he refuses to accept the gift of salvation. Sadly, and mistakenly, he believes that he can save himself.
