Am I the only one who wants Matty and Jenna together?

Don't get me wrong, I know the writers have made their relationship so repetitive throughout every season that it's become annoying but I still just want them to end up together. I wish the writers would have instead made them "just friends" after the first season or during the second and waited until the very end of the show to put them back together as some exciting surprise. Instead I feel like they're just going in circles. They've publicly dated, broken up, got back together(?), tried the friends with benefits thing, ect. Now I feel like there are no surprises left to keep us intrigued with their relationship. But I still love and miss their chemistry since season 1 and would love for it to work out somehow.

reply

Me too, i want them together but i hate how Jenna treated him

reply

I want them together and it's pretty obvious that they're endgame, but both of them have some work to do if they want their relationship to work this time.

reply

I actually prefer Jenna with Jake only because they seem to easily get along, they don't need to put in any effort to talk and they both seem to on the fence about themselves. Jake had changed up pretty much every season and she tries to change herself for whomever, whenever.

reply

See I didn't really like Jake and Jenna together because I thought it was too easy and I think that's why Jenna made herself like Jake. I remember during that season Jenna kept saying how much easier things were with Jake opposed to Matty but I felt like that made it seem inauthentic.

Yes because there is no chemistry between them to make it... awkward!

I'm with you. I liked Jenna with Jake. I could never get into her w/Matty. I like this Eva storyline though & was glad that Jenna told her off.

reply

I liked the chemistry Jenna had with both Matty and Jake during season 1. But overall Jenna and Matty have always had the better chemistry but I hated the way Jenna ended it and hurt him. I'd only want them back together if it was less drama.

Nope, Matty is a douche. I hear all this talk about what Jenna did to poor Matty but what about what Matty did Jenna? How has everyone seemed to have forgotten that Matty treated Jenna like his dirty little secret? And then he did everything in his power to ruin his best friend's relationship with her. To me there is absolutely no defense of him.

reply

They have both been in the wrong at some point but once they were exclusive Matty was the perfect boyfriend to Jenna and he stayed faithful. She did not.

reply

Again, are we forgetting how they got into a relationship in the first place? Matty had to break the bro code and betray his best friend. If Matty was any kind of decent person he and Jenna probably would never have happened.

reply

That was just as much Jenna`s fault as it was Matty's. They've both been in the wrong in the past, and they both have a lot of work to do to make their relationship work.

reply

Jenna kept choosing Jake and Matty wouldn't give up. I don't see how Jenna as at fault there.

Matty didn't hold a gun to Jenna's head and force her to choose him over Jake. I get that you like Jenna and Jake together, but lets not pretend that Jenna isn't capable of making her own decisions and being held accountable for them.

reply

Accountable for what? If Matty wouldn't have interfered, Jenna and Jake wouldn't have broken up, at least not then, and Jenna wouldn't have had to "choose" between them. Matty is the one that broke the "bro code" not Jenna.

reply

in the matters of heart there are no codes at the end...

Accountable for obsessing over Matty endlessly while she was with Jake and choosing to take him back. Matty didn't force her to do anything. Jenna decided on her own that she wanted to give it another shot with him.

Matty is the one that broke the "bro code" not Jenna.

Jenna was the one who dated Jake, not Matty. I agree that Matty as Jake's friend had an obligation to be honest with Jake but that same rule also applied to Jenna because she was Jake's girlfriend. They BOTH chose to lie to him. Let's not pretend Matty was the only guilty party here.

Jenna had absolutely no obligation to tell Jake about her hooking up with Matty. She told Matty she was done with him and then went out with Jake. Jenna and Matty weren't even a couple at that point. It was not Jenna who ran off seeking Matty after Jake stormed off, it was Matty who, the second he heard his best friend's relationship was in trouble, went after Jenna. I repeat, the SECOND he found out. Matty was wrong wrong wrong for going after Jenna...PERIOD!

reply

Being that she was his GIRLFRIEND, yes she did have an obligation to tell him. Not telling him ended up blowing up in her face since she hurt Jake by not being honest with him. But I can see you're not going to be reasonable about this since you're determined to believe Matty is the devil and Jenna is some perfect little angel incapable of being held responsible for her own decisions. If Jenna had truly been done with Matty when she started dating Jake then NO amount of Matty trying to win her back would have convinced Jenna to give him a second chance.

. She told Matty she was done with him and then went out with Jake.

Words don't mean sh!t when your actions are saying the exact opposite. Jenna has habit of saying things about herself, and in particular her feelings for Matty, that aren't true. Take for example the episode when she set up Matty and Eva on a date. She told Tamara she was over Matty and just wanted to see him happy. Then a couple hours later she's getting all jealous and pissy because Matty and Eva are enjoying their time together. What Jenna says cannot be taken at face value because more often than not her actions are what show her real feelings.

So when Jenna was with Jake her actions of rejecting Matty multiple times meant that she really wanted him not Jake? Really?! Even after everything blew up Jenna still chose Jake, siding with him after his confrontation with Matty. Was it not Matty who tagged along everywhere Jake and Jenna went with the express purpose to sabotage their relationship? That is the one thing that really pissed me off about this show and when it marked the point where it threw realism out the window and that is when Jake found out about this and still decided to be friends with both Jenna and Matty and he started to date Tamara. Jake should have told them all to go f@&$ themselves!

Her WORDS are NOT her actions. She chose to get back with Matty instead of Jake. What more proof do you need that Jenna wanted to give their relationship a second chance as much as Matty did? She kissed Matty literally an hour after Jake dumped her. That is an action that shows she wasn't over Matty. She also chose to hide the fact that she and Matty dated from Jake. If she was completely over Matty like she had CLAIMED she was then Jenna wouldn't have made a big deal about wanting to keep her first a secret from Jake.

I'm not trying to discourage you from rooting for Jenna/Jake, but lets not pretend she isn't fully capable of making her own choices. Jenna wasn't seduced into ditching Jake by the evil douchebag Matty like you're trying to paint him as. Jenna chose to give him a second chance.

I want them to be together too!

reply

I would be furious if they don't end up together!!
And that's the reason I didn't liked the season finale as an end end.!!

I hate the fact watching a series and big finale is goes the wrong way so I do not want to remember that I have watched it. Its really a waste of time.

I really hope they wont sc... this up!

reply

I'm perfectly happy seeing them move on. That's more realistic since they're getting ready to head to college and start new lives.
