Thought it was going to be a take off of the movie series

When i saw the name as a series I thought it was going to be based around the general story of the movie Pulse. I've only seen the first one and heard the last 2 were bad, but I thought more could be done about the isolated areas where the ghouls could not reach kind of like Jericho.
