Not a good movie at all, just as deep as transformers...

-Charlie Hunnam was really bad.... maybe it wasnt his fault maybe it was the dialogue, but he was seriously bad..

- Raleigh is unlikable and inept... his cockiness and lack of focus is partly what got his own brother killed

- I dont want to say he seems rapey.... but releigh trying to get Mako to be his partner comes off as creepy and way too eager and an excuse to get close... sure she proved herself to be a good marshal artist, but there seems little in common between operating a jerky mech that slowely obeys your movements and being a great marshall artist..

-Chuck Hansen was totally right about Raleigh, inept jaeger pilots are the reason nobody trusted them and got lots of people killed

- the sword is dumb... who would of guessed it, swords than can easily cut through these extremely strong mutos at a distance (compared to fisticuffs) is effective..... compared to laser hand guns that can be easily disabled, have only enough ammo to kill 1 and take forever to power up......

-sorry what were the differences between the muto classes? i didnt notice a size difference really between 3,4 and 5...... i will concede this point if i am wrong though

it sucks because i really like del toro and really wanted to like this movie. and i liked certain elements. like the different generations of jaegers, their different functions and strengths... the different mutos, the closing of the underwater passage to an extent. but overall this was weak... certainly its action is at least visually comprehensible compared to bays transformers and his total disregard for continuity or any sense of space of characters during fights, but only slighty

transfomers gets a 4, for massive contradictions and bays inability to maintain space and orientation in fights (and in general)

Pacific rim gets a 5/10. which isnt a fail in my book, it just means its a fairly generic film that doesnt push the envelope, innovate and is not really spectacular in any way...
