I completely agree. I never really liked Young in general and because he had won so much money already I really wanted Kimea(sp?) to win and im so happy she did. And I do believe she had the best show of the 3 so Im glad she won. I was worried Young was gonna win because the whole show he basically dominated but he didn't!

shareI agree about Young too. I think it's manipulative to use pictures of a dying parent to win a contest, which is basically what that was, IMO.

Kymia deserves to win on the quiet awesomeness of the boat drawing alone. Young lacked any subtlety whatsoever, blatantly milking that "here's my dead old man" crap over and over again.
I agree. Some of his earlier stuff was interesting but I just couldn't admire his final pieces. I have a clothesline at my house and every once in a while I do a load of laundry and hang it it there in an aesthetically pleasing way. My dad has been dead for 20 years.
I have a problem with all the "meaning" these guys are trying to inject into everything. I am a very shallow person and I am not interested in the Big Story behind anyone's pieces. I am judging purely on whether it pleases me. I think they must feel pressure from the producers to tell some kind of story that makes what they do seem more meaningful.
