Seriously?

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree more with their choice.

I won't go too into it becasue it seems I am the only one posting about this thusfar, but I felt like the judges got the order exactly reversed.

They got it right.

I agree. Kymia's stuff was awesome. Hell, I even liked the stuff she showed to Simone when he visited her apartment, those psychedelic paintings he told her to get rid of. Kymia's delivered artwork was awesome. I loved how intricate they were. I would've blown my top if she had lost...I mean, she turned in actual friggin' ART! If they'd chosen Young's "photos on hanging laundry" piece, it would've been a crying shame.

I would have liked to see the order reversed too but honestly, I'm just happy it wasn't Young because like Bill said, the photos in his final show were so loaded. 'Look! Here are pictures of my dad dying. How can I not be the winner?!' I am also pleased it wasn't him because the judges have been up his ass all season. Didn't everyone assume it was the lock of the year that he would be the champ? It was nice to be surprised.

You've got a point there, iii40162. The host and the jury are people much more interesting than almost every artist on the programme.

I found Young's work to be more of a shrine, and felt it went a little too far and therefore didn't think it deserved to win. My pick was Sara because I loved her paper cranes in the cage piece, but I'm fine with Kymia winning.

"I hope she didn't take my attempt to destroy her too seriously."

Kymia's drawings show a great deal of talent, especially the pen and ink with the amount of detail. She put a lot more work into hers than the other two and deserved to win. As much as I can empathize with losing a father, I didn't see much artistry in gluing pictures to shirts.

I would have put Kymia first, Sara second and Young last. The whole episode I thought her work was just so much more than the other two.

I was worried when Sara went first. I really don't think Young should've been top two. Sara's work was much stronger and it isn't a photography vs drawing/sculpture thing. I agree that it felt like Young didn't really push the artistic and emotional meaning behind the work. It felt like a shrine and to be honest a bit lacking in something. I felt awful for him and it was definitely emotional but I don't think it should've been top two. I feel like Sara and Kymia had fully realized concepts and really pushed them. I think that Kymia was also able to insert her own emotional past without losing creativity. I'm glad Kymia wons, she seems sweet and is very talented. I'm also excited that someone that went to my school won. She graduated some years before me, but some of my friends know her and they said she was very talented, worked hard and was a sweet person. I, however, wouldn't have been angry if Sara won. I thought her work was strong as well.
