I am not into art, and yet I liked this show

I love looking at good pictures (paintings, photographs) and sculptures. I see the talent behind a lot of them. But I do not understand the "Judy Funnie"'s of the world (Google it), who look at a red dot in the center of a white canvas and sit there groveling "look at the pain....the agony!" I've never understood a lot of what some people call art. I only enjoy looking at paintings and photographs of things that I can actually relate to...I cannot relate to a stick figure...I do not see the talent in a finger painting that a kindergartner or a raccoon could do.

However, I found this show to be very interesting. The insight into what these people who call themselves "artists" are thinking when they put something together. Like all of the other 2 reality shows I watch, I recorded it and skipped all the critique at the judging table and the elimination; I watched it purely to watch the art being made and to see the final product, as well as to hear opinions from the regular viewers.

Art is one of those things where everyone has different opinions of, and just like opinions of anything else, nobody can understand anyone who doesn't share the same opinion. And that's my complaint of this message board, people criticizing the show, calling them amateurs. If you don't like it, you don't like it...but calling them amateurs because they don't do your kind of art? If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Don't criticize those of us who enjoyed it because you have different taste. How would you feel if I started calling you an idiot and an amateur because you put ketchup on your fries?

I raved about this program to my boyfriend and my sister who wewre both "eurgh" about actually watching it. It sounded awful to them! Eventually, after much coaxing, I got them to watch it and whaddya know?! Both hooked!

Such a shame its been cancelled. :(

I'd like to be a person who lives in a city with cultural life, who has time to go to museums, or can afford to buy pieces of art. This programme has brought a different way of life to me, the way of life I'd like to have, to tell you the truth.
