"Ray" vs. "Ray Nicolette"?

Does anybody know if the character played by Kevin Corrigan, only identified as "Ray" in the film and credits (he's the guy who kills Mark Boone Junior's character), is supposed to be the "Ray Nicolette" played by Michael Keaton in Jackie Brown and Out of Sight?

Thanks ahead!

I would say so, but they can't call him Ray Nicolette because Miramax owns the rights to the character through Jackie Brown, so would have had to pay quite a bit just to give him the Nicolette surname in the credits.

Out of Sight would have had the same problem, not being a Miramax film, but Tarantino insisted they be allowed to use the name so Keaton could play Nicolette in both films.

Interesting, but based no the novels I don't believe there's anything to indicate the "Ray" from 1977's "The Switch" is the same as the Ray from 1992's "Rum Punch." Just saying, it's kinda preposterous.

Why is it so preposterous, when Louis, Odell, and Melanie also appear in both books/movies?
