agreed. i'm 19 and i watch victorious, and victoria and i are the same age soooo..... i personally liked the movie but agree with you wrote. i think that the writing just needed to be improved.

i feel bad for victoria because i know how hard she worked on this movie and how much effort she put into her role. it sucks that it bombed.

I just think the movie had the Lol and Wild Child syndrome. Too mature for young ones, and too immature for adults. I didn't watch it though. But I believe if Victorious had more young fans maybe it would have done well. Perhaps the majority of its fans are older, but not enough.

While Ralph was no doubt the superior movie, the OP may be on to something. The whole family was excited to go see this when we saw the first commercials. Then the rating changed to pg-13 and just like that, they eliminated their target demo. It wasn't teens, never was, no teen wants to see pay to see a movie with their friends about a younger brothers antics. The demographic was always parents & kids.

Now with the current rating it has, one demo CAN'T see it, and ergo the other has no reason too anymore. Honestly no idea wtf they were thinking rating this pg-13. Had they left the rating, they'd have 3 more ticket sales, and that's just one family...

So your saying victoria justice is stuck making tv shows and movies for kids the rest of her life? just like any other actress she can move on to older projects and not just be stuck in roles that are appropriate for kids.

reply

Yes. But this movie was released while the show was still on. Also, it was produced by Nickelodeon.

I plan to rent/stream/download this movie ONLY because it was directed & produced by Josh Schwartz and his studio "Fake Empire Productions". I'm a fan of Josh Schwartz because of 2 TV Shows he created/produced/wrote "The O.C." & "Chuck".

I can see why this movie flopped. The marketing direction was screwed up. This is supposed to be a PG-13 teen movie directed & produced by people who produce TV Shows aimed at Young Adults/Teens. But for some ridiculous reason Paramount Pictures released the movie under the "Nickelodeon Movies" banner, who produce and are associated with family & kids movies/TV. Paramount Pictures should of released it under "MTV Films". And if they were using a TV actor, they would've been better off using a CW, ABC Family, or MTV star instead of a current Nickelodeon star.
