THIS is a family film?? REALLY?!?

I saw the trailer for this in front of KATY PERRY: PART OF ME and there were two things I think need to be addressed.

1) The trailer displays two images; one of them is a young boy sitting on a toilet, the other a mechanical chicken apparently humping a car. Considering this film is co-produced by Nickelodeon Studios, the movie branch of the cable network, you would think this would be kid friendly. These two images, however, clearly show it is not. Do they actually intend to market this to children? If so, expect those images to be conspicuously absent from the TV ads. And then watch parents get mad when they find out about them.

2) Just what in the blue blazes were those images doing in a green-band trailer? WHY is the Motion Picture Association of America letting this go by??

You are trolling.

reply

He's not trolling, your post was kind of ridiculous.

reply

And HOW is it ridiculous? Have YOU seen the trailer??

reply

Yes and you're being a prude. Grow up. It's just a rubber chicken. It was funny.

reply

I AM a grown up. And I think such images are for grown ups, not children, which is what Nickelodeon is supposed to be targeting.

Those images don't belong in a children's film. Period.

If you think that's appropriate for kids, then maybe you should show the last ten minutes of THE BROWN BUNNY to a ten year old. Hey, it's funny, according to you, so why not?

I also heard the word "bitch" in one of the trailers.

reply

You don't have to explain yourself any further to someone like that.
He/she is either young and does not understand what is or is not appropriate for kids or it's an adult who lets his/her kids watch whatever they want, thinking he/she is a cool parent in trying to be their child's friend.

reply

Everything's subjective. All depends on who you ask.
You can disagree but no need to call someone a prude.
No one is calling you low life trash because you don't see a problem with it. :)

reply

IKR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just saw the trailer and I'm very very confused as to why they kept flashing the Nickelodeon logo everywhere when there are sexual references and cursing!!!!!!
REALLY NICK??? On it's own, the movie would be fine, but with Nick plastered everywhere, I'm just stunned and confused. Maybe this is supposed to be synonymous to the whole Disney-Pirates of the Caribbean type thing. I guess.

"And do you know what I'm gonna do?"
"YOU GONNA MAKE SOME BISCUITS??!!!!"
"Ugh...no!"

reply

Obviously, this is a movie for TEENS, NOT children.

Idiot.

reply

Teens are children donkey :)

reply

Not necessarily. Maybe 13 - 15 but I wouldn't say 16 - 19 are exactly "children".

reply

Look at Jessica Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," obviously sexual and not intended for children yet it's an awesome film. In Back to the Future they have swearing and smoking and drinking yet it's a kids film. I'm sure we could think of more but the point is is that kids just think it's comedy.

reply

"Look at Jessica Rabbit in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," obviously sexual and not intended for children"

Exactly.

" In Back to the Future they have swearing and smoking and drinking yet it's a kids film."

According to whom? Robert Zemeckis? Bob Gale?

reply

Back to the Future is not a kids' film.

1. The boy is just sitting on the toilet. We don't hear or see what he's doing on it. And what's wrong with that? It's not violent, sexual, profane, or related to drugs.
2. The chicken humping thing is not directly sexual. The chicken is designed to make a different motion when it's on the building, but when it falls onto the car, it looks as if it's doing something different. It's suggestive, but not graphic and blatantly sexual.

"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"

reply

The kid on the toilet, chicken humping the car, one of the guys say "bitch", the girl in the cat suit says, "prostitution," the Asian kid gives a sex gesture with his hips and I am sure there will be a few other things inappropriate for "kids," during the movie.

If you think a film with Nick attached is appropriate to have these, then you don't know about Nick and who their target audience is.

reply

Your skin is so thin I can see your innards.

reply

I agree! In the trailer I saw, there were two BLATANT sexual references, both including humping motions. In a "kids film". How gross and inappropriate. And really, not funny either. Big fail all around.

I hear the drizzle of the rain. Like a memory it falls.

reply

Theres also a character saying B*TCH ! outloud . I am really confused about whot he ehck are they targeting with this film . or maybe just on how downhill our society went .

reply

They are targeting TEENS. The fact that this stars Victoria Justice and was released by Nickelodeon doesn't automatically make it a children's movie.

reply

This movie is obviously PG-13, so why the need to slap the Nickelodeon name on it? They're going to be running these commercials on Nick programming, and a lot of parents are going to be pissed when they go and see it with their kids. It'll be a lot of headache, so they're asking for it.

reply

who caressss, unless you work for the MPAA, why are you wasting your time complaining about this? I mean seriously, you have enough free time to campaign on this board against suggestive themes in a likely PG-13 film made by a company generally known for kids......................

this is what is wrong with people in the world today, too much time for their own good. if you have a kid, great, don't bring them to the film. if you work for the MPAA, well sorry they didn't listen to your advice.

move on, this is hardly big news or controversial, when they show Mickey Mouse sucking a dude in a bathroom stall then you will really have something to make a commotion about, not these little suggestive themes

If i go crazy will you still call me Superman?

reply

This is where it begins....and if people want to voice their opinions, they can.
If you don't like reading them, leave. Move on. Take your advice. :)
