Who was your favourite character?

Personally I found myself drawn to the female Muslim cop (didn't catch the name).
She was hot-tempered, yappy but had a sense of humour too. Even her two outbursts (one against the girl who got caught luring another one to a gangrape and the other against the man that was forcing his underage daughter to get married) were entertaining and I could see where she was coming from. She probably had seen too many of these incidents growing up in the Muslim community and developed a loathing against the Muslim stereotyping and/or fundamentalism.

Baloo was my favorite character. He conveyed all of the "ambiguity" of a senior member of the department who has to mediate the conflicts among his co-workers but without alienating any of them. For instance, he was sympathetic to Fred's over-involvement in the lives of his "cases"(especially little Ousman, who was devastated when his mother was forced to abandon him) but he had to temper his empathy with the harsh reality of having to work under an emotionless boss like Beauchard.

Although she was not my favorite character, I share your opinion of Nora (I believe that is the character's name). She brought to the scene you mention all of the anger and frustration that must plague so many emancipated Muslim women. The problem I had with that scene was the unlikelihood that a Muslim man (especially one of his age) would have submitted to such a prolonged diatribe, and that a public employee, even in France, would have escaped repercussions as a result of such loss of control.

My favourite was Nadine ( the outstanding Karin Viard) and her physical attack on Iris ( Marina Fois) in their office was surely one of more realistic fights I have seen on screen.
