Kevin Hart

What was the point of his character? We has just there to go "daaaamnnnn" and make fun of white people? I personally felt like the movie would have been better off without him. He added absolutely nothing.

What's the point of Kevin Hart at all? He is, at best, a less-effeminate Chris Tucker with considerably diminished range.

What was the point of your parents having you?

I wouldn't have liked this movie as much if Kevin Hart weren't in it. He brought the humour which was the only good thing about this movie.
Also, Kim Basinger was the most pointless character. They could have just had her son come back and we didn't need the love triangle that ended 30yrs ago again. I hated that part.

reply

Agreed - Kevin Hart added some great humor. I actually liked him better here than in Ride Along and I'm not sure why because he had more screen time in the RA.

Basinger was bad in this...she also looked much too young for these two - miscast.

reply

Kim Basinger is 60 years old, 61 this year. Stallone is 67 and DeNiro is 70. I would say that's age appropriate casting. It's not like they cast a 45 year old woman or hell, even a 50 year old one. Let's not count the fact that Kim Basinger looks fantastic for her age, against her.

Their wasn't much point to the entire movie, give Kevin Hart a break! I guess his character was there to counteract Slys dull nice guy act and lack of any comedic anything.

So , you're basically saying that if he made fun of black people, you wouldn't have had a problem. Sounds like you are racist.

Reported. And I'm not even Black. But clearly you are racist.

reply

Reported? Come on, man. Grow some balls.

Kevin Hart added a little but his hyper manic schtick is getting old pretty quick and I lost count at the number of white people jokes and cracker references he sprinkled throughout the movie.

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Yeah those got old fast.

Utah! Get me two.

Kevin Hart stole the show out from under an amazing cast. Hart was hilarious in his role.

I agree I thought he was lame and an idiotic character.
Has a kid in private school yet buys expensive car before any money is received..

It's interesting to me nonetheless that he says 'I can't.. this is white people *beep* man' when there wasn't anything stereotypically white about the situation at hand. I was a little surprised that is a normal thing to yell out at any random time (I don't live in America so maybe it's just a common saying there). I just don't get how its humorous. I couldn't look at it and be like Haaaa yes that is soooo white people!

reply

I thought he was pretty good. Yes, he is over the top, but that's his thing. Going into it, I thought he was more of a main role. I think his secondary role was solid.
