Random Thoughts on the Finale

1. Bethenny to Julie (more than once): We did it together, me and you. So why not make Julie a partner in your success, not just an employee? I've had this thought all season.

2. Does no one read in their family? Snobbish me, but I like a house with books. And not coffee table books that had no business sharing space with a tufted pouffee, a vase of flowers, and a toddler.

3. Fabulous dressing room, but why windows there and not in the living-room? Strange to me to waste the windows in the dressing room.

4. Ugly cabinets in the kitchen. Now if I saw them in person and you tell me they are supposed to be fabulous, I might change my mind. But on TV they look very ugly and are a horrible color in a white kitchen.

5. Bryn's bedroom was perfect for a little princess.

6. Why does Jason need a treadmill in his man-cave? NYC is so fantastic to walk in; can never understand why someone would want to exercise at home.

7. Hated the wallpaper in the master bedroom. Way too large a pattern; might have been okay with a smaller pattern.

8. Wonderful light in the apartment and the neutral colors made it even more sun-filled.

9. Did anyone notice the toilet? What's with no lid?

10. Had no clue she writes a monthly column for Glamour magazine.

11. I hated the American flag work of art. She bought it on the street; too bad she couldn't return it; it looked very cheap and nasty.

1. I wondered that, too.

2. I don't understand people who don't read and who don't surround themselves with books. I have 2 kindles (I'm using one to talk to you right now) but I still buy physical books and check out both physical and digital books from the library, so people who don't have enough intellectual curiosity to pick up a book, even if just occasionally, are foreign to me.

3. A house without windows in the living room, and a lot of them, isn't worth buying no matter what kind of bargain it is. I won't even buy a house that has only sliding glass doors as the "windows" in the room.

1. I've always thought that Julie should be a partner in Skinny Girl. Sje built that business... nit Bethenny. She did all the business and Bethenny brought the ""name". But without Julie's hard work there would be no Skinny Girl.Julie kept it all together. Damn, she even helps dress Bethenny and preps her for photo shoots.

2. I think the extent of Bethenny's reading are fashion mags.

3. There were no windows in the living room because she put up a wall to make her dressing room. I thought that was a bad idea as well.

4. Those kitchen cabinets look like the budget cabinets that they sell at Home Depot. Totally tacky And why is there a step up in the kitchen? Probably because that's where the plumbing is hidden. But another bad idea. I would never hire that architect.

5. Bryn's bedroom was cute. But small considering the size of that apartment

6. A treadmill is good for rainy days. Or for days when there is no time to go to a gym. You can always workout before going to bed. It's also great to hang clothes on... lol

7. I hated that wallpaper too. The color scheme was so blah. And did you see those tiny tacky night stands?

8. I think tho color scheme and furniture are horrid.... boring, cold with no homey or cozy feel at all.

9. I didn't notice the toilet. But the marble looked terrible. It didn't seem to match... especially after all that discussion about it. It still turned out terrible.

10. I didn't know about the Glamour column either. But I wonder how much of it was written with Julie's help.

11. That flag was so out of place. But everything looked out of place. It looked like she just ran around purchasing random pieces and then threw them all together.
That decorating team was as worthless as the architect. This job won't be bringing them any work.

I wish these guys would stop jumping

Walking/running sucks in the rain or snow. I recently began using a treadmill and although it's the most mind-numbingly boring activity, I can control the elevation, pace and even monitor my heart rate. It really provides better feedback than a walk/run outdoors, but is still really, really boring. Oh and did I mention how boring a treadmill is? Well, it is. Very boring.

9. Did anyone notice the toilet? What's with no lid?

I don't know if we were looking at the same thing, but I saw both a bidet and a toilet in a rather plain, partitioned area w/in the master bath. The bidet didn't have a lid but I didn't get a good look at the toilet. Too distracted by the fact that they actually have a bidet.

11. I hated the American flag work of art. She bought it on the street; too bad she couldn't return it; it looked very cheap and nasty.

I agree. It felt like too much of a shock of harsh color in an otherwise whitewashed room.

^I walk for at least two hours every day, come rain or shine, snow or ice. In addition, I don't drive so everywhere I need to go I walk. You literally could not pay me to go on a treadmill. I don't live in NYC now, but it's a great walking city for sure.

You're right about the bidet. Of course it's a bidet (and she did talk in the showroom about getting one).

#11...I don't dislike the flag art, but it was so wrong for that space.

#2...come on, authors are expected to be avid readers! LOL

If you're not responding to me, "reply" to the post you're responding to. kthanks.

^You're right. I forgot Bethenny is an author. Makes it even worse thst I did not see a single book in the house.

Some people like to walk/run uninterrupted by traffic. Unless you live near Central Park, it can be difficult to find a spot where you can walk or jog for a long time without stopping for traffic and wading around pedestrians.

^I lived in midtown Manhattan for ten years and absolutely adored walking around New York City. In fact, to this day, I never learned to drive a car.
