Thanks for the gift... that you took back

So she gives Jason a gift of a laptop... Then turns around and tells him that he can't have it unless he leaves his job and works for Skinny Girl.

What a b!tch... Everything is conditional with Bethenny. Their family life, their work life, their new apartment... she probably controls their sex life as well. It always has to be her way or the highway.

She even told him that he eats too much and he's "not allowed" to have anymore snacks.... Who tells their spouse that they are "not allowed" to eat in their own home? If you run out of snack... you buy more. What's the problem?

The problem is that Bethenny has to be in control of everything.

I don't blame Jason for being hesitant to want to work for Skinny Girl. That will probably be the end of their marriage.

Completely agree! I was kind of in disbelief when I heard her saying he couldn't have the laptop if he kept his job.

I agree on the laptop but here's where life gets interesting. I had to laugh about the snacks. I have the same situation. I buy all the snacks but I hardly ever get any. It seems that certain male members of this family see it fit to finish it all in one sitting! I totally got what she was saying. Unfortunately, the laptop issue was problematic in my view too. She was pushing him to make a decision. She is impatient and wanted a committment. In marriage the one thing that will give you mileage is patience and the one thing that will wreck it is the lack of it.

Ess...I have the food issue too! When I buy shredded cheese to use sparingly in recipes, my husband loves to "waste" it by dumping it on whatever suits his fancy....drives me batty!

Yeah, the laptop situation was over the top. A gift with conditions? nice.

If you're not responding to me, "reply" to the post you're responding to. kthanks.

I agree 100% Bethenny has worn Jason down if you have been watching Jaosn said a few episodes ago that he just says " yes dear " and thats all from Bethenny biotching adn moaning about everything he says. Jason can not have an opinion or B will jump all over him...yet she tells him to speak up. I think she likes to make Jason look like sh!t but he has gotten to smart fro that and has made her look like the mean and cruel wife she has been acting like. Thats when she runs to her shrink so he can feed her EGO and i think Jason is right on when he says Bethenny has all her workers around to stroke her ego and tell her how wonderful she is. Which is WRONG in so many ways.

She has made tons of money so why have your employees work out of your home when you have that much money...she is always BRAGGING that Skinnygirl is such a monster of a brand it is and i agree! and telling people that are going to work for her ...are you ready to take on this beast. But still Julie and her working out of her apt. was one thing..now this is on a whole other level. Its to much Bethenny all the time she needs to understand Jasons need as well but for some reason she has been selfindulged for sometime now in others words B says Jason who and its not even right. Sad really sad!!!!!

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

As soon as I saw that laptop I thought, "Product placement!" She did say it was for the office but then after the shrink visit she layed off and I'm sure he got it anyway, no big deal. I was glad to see her realize she has to let Jason walk his own road; they'll both be happier for it!

Ummmmm.... I just downloaded and watched that episode.

JASON WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL. So she was not asking him to "leave his job".. he didn't have a job... and he had no idea what he wanted to do.

She did not say "give the laptop back if you don't leave you job and work for me".

Jason quit whatever job he had (his choice, and it was NOT at Bethenny's suggestion) and had been CAUSALLY working for Bethenny.

Bethenny suggested she OFFICIALLY hire him, but if he didn't want the job, she would need to hire someone else, because working for her "on and off and now and then" was not getting things done. Either you are in.. or out.

She suggested he figure out what career he wanted, and that he was blessed because there was no rush (since she had money). HOWEVER, she needed to know if he was going to work for HER or not (officially)so that could fill the position if the answer was NO. That is basic business and SMART business, no less. You can't leave things "up in the air". Either you are in or not.

The whole lap top thing was to light a fire under his ass and give an answer. He didn't have to hurry and find a job, but at least OFFICIALLY LET HER KNOW IF HE WANTED THE POSITION OR NOT. He was wishy-washy with his answer, and her reply (and I understand her point) was that the laptop could be given to who ever was hired if he was not taking the position.

The point is.. it was NOT a personal gift, not a gift given to HER HUSBAND, but a gift given to the person WHO WAS GOING TO WORK FOR HER.

Dislike her all you want, (I dont think she is perfect) but at least see things as they really happened.

The way you tell the story makes it worse.

Jason was her husband; not an employee, nor an intern nor a puppet.

HER MATE.

it was half his laptop when she "gave" it to him.
