Opening shots of the film (spoilers)

For anybody (like myself) not familiar with the real life story of the woman killing her 4 children, I wonder why the filmmaker chose to telegraph the ending (I don't think 'spoil' would be the right word in this case) by including the shot of the 4 coffins being loaded onto the plane at the beginning of the film.

This basically left me wondering how the 4 children were going to die throughout, and lessened the shock at the end.

I didn't like this choice but I'm sure there is a reason for the decision?

"Please don't eat me! I have a wife and kids. Eat them!"
