Who is the narrator?

I'm a big William Shatner fan from my childhood in the 70s with Star Trek to his stint as Denny Crane on Boston Legal, so I know his voice quite well. The person I'm hearing narrating this show (season 1: episodes 4-6) sounds nothing like William Shatner and everything like John Hurt. However, every search I do for this show lists the host as Shatner.

I'm watching this on Netflix. Is this version of "Weird or What" different from Shatner's version? The current episode I'm watching is titled "Human Popsicle" and a quick google search gives credit to Shatner as the host. This is NOT Shatner.

This is completely baffling.

Was that the episode about cryo freezing?

I can't tell you if it's him on the netflix versions or not, but the ones I have seen on TV are him!

I'm the same way. I can guess celeb voices in commercials all day long but this definitely doesn't sound like Shatners narrating. At least not on the episodes in netflix.

Not sure where the show were the original for which network on cable or original for Netflix. I first saw them on SyFy, which shows Captain Kirk, a few months ago. An hour ago, I found it on Netflix entirely w/out him. I'm betting that Weird or What was originally w/out Kirk and SyFy bought rights/license to recreate with the Kirk version. The naratting probably that Kirk reads from the orignal scripts adding his own ways then made new on SyFy.
