Regeneration or Day of Reckoning
I LOVED regeneration. I'm 31, grew up with action movies, saw the original as a kid(still watchable), but I'm not exaggerating that Regeneration was one of the best action movies I've seen. Total replay value, plot simple enough(but not dumb)to drive the story along.
Now Day of Reckoning: what it shares with regeneration is its action scenes and that cool synthe score. Although I don't remember any slo-mo shots in the last one, d.o.r. had quite alot.
The negatives though was that it easily felt 20 minutes to long(nothing against movie lengths, love Good bad and ugly)The plot was much more complex than Regeneration but was still filmed like a minimalistic storyline approach which made it feel very off and boring in parts.
John Hyams is a great action director, but Regeneration was soooo good cause it was more about the setting and these characters are just a part of it. Whereas Dragon Eyes and Day of Reckoning had a main character, but both movies were just kinda boring(even with the cool action scenes)
Nothing against slo-mo shots here and there, but DOR and Dragon Eyes had alot and Regeneration didn't have any, which wins in my book. If you film the scene well enough, you don't need slo-mo to wow the viewer
