How did the bad guys get in?

Just finished watching and wondered HOW did the bad guys get in the Station?

There was ONLY one way in (The main door), and I don't recall seeing them show how they got in.

Either they got David/Meredith's door code and let themselves in, or David/Meredith opened it (accidentally or purposely) and let them in.

The one code that Katherine cracked (From the e-mail messages) was for the Cipher code to allow her to broadcast the cancellation messages. There is NO WAY that would have also been the door access code. (if it was, that's a big fracking stupid plot hole.)

So How did they get in?!?

They explained right away when they went in that the tandem before had their code compromised because it changes on the shift.

Agree'd, they show you the voice recording (but with images added) that David has his gun drawn towards the entryway saying "How did they replace the operator?". Obviously the fake operator called, told them some bullcrap about a shift change or some nonsense, gave them relevant confirmation and they opened the outer doors for the baddies.

The problem then though is that we see later on that the operator has no knowledge of codes or protocol, so would correct procedure not be for someone inside the bunker to ask for proof?

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

I love the horrible use of "Plot Hole". Just because the Agent would have been stupid to use the same code as the door code doesn't mean it was a plot hole... just that she would be stupid to do so. Second, nothing in the movie indicated that she knew the code to the door, Emerson was the one who entered the code for the door, so she may not been able to give the bad guys the code even accidentally. Plot hole avoided!

The Fake one way operator could have known the codes for the first crew but maybe the codes change for each crew (as other codes changed) and the fake operator didn't know Emerson's but was just winging it hoping that Emerson didn't notice or try to check him. This may have been indicated by the delay the first time Emerson tried his codes, they may have been attempting to figure out how to handle the situation.

Katherine let them. Remember she didn't get off the train but suddenly just appeared on the platform. She had already got to the base earlier, then returned to the station.

One thing this thread establishes is that it's not clear how they got in, which is a failing in the film, which does a great job of wall papering over this question, by employing lots of unwanted and at times rather needless flashbacks. I assumed it had something to do with the fake operator, but admit, it's all rather confusing and in a film of this nature, shouldn't be.🐭
