Would you guys want a release of an extended cut?

The film had roughly over 20 minutes of deleted scenes and more than half of them shouldn't have been deleted. I really hope sometime in the future they make an extended version. The worldwide box office was 33 million which isn't great but still decent since it made back it's budget. It made $15 million in it's DVD sales which is pretty amazing. I really want an extended cut in the future with Susan in the Cafeteria, Charlie's Best Friend Michael, Charlie and Mom on Christmas Eve, Brother and Sister (the abortion scene), Home for Dinner, and Charlie and Mom Leave the Hospital reinserted into the movie. I would be fine with all of the deleted scenes being back in but the rest don't really fit the movie. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing an extended cut, though I think the existing print works perfectly fine without them.

I'd like to see an extended cut with just the scene with Michael and the scene at the abortion clinic. Those 2 scenes should have been kept in. I think the rest the movie could do without, but those two scenes would make the film feel much more complete.

Possible Spoiler.

All of the deleted scenes would have given us knowledge earlier in the film that Charlie was wounded and dealing with the past. I think either the director himself or the studio wanted to make it less obvious until the crisis near the end. All the scenes were completed, and were even scored. The deletions were obviously made after the film was completed. I'd be interested in a cut that restores some or all of the scenes.

I may make a fan cut of it using Sony Vegas.

I agree.....I think teasing a deep secret until near the end really makes the story more special. We know something is amiss, but until it's worked in it doesn't play a prominent part in the story. To me that works perfectly.

If I had a chance to see a directors cut.....I might, but I'm guessing they'll be in extras on the DVD anyway.

The scenes are available on the DVD. I watch them afterwards and some could fit while others feel like filter.
