The parents of these kids...

oughta be sterilized and put in jail themselves. They raised these brats, and when the sweeties get in trouble, Mom & Dad lawyer up.

The real life part, where the widow and her husband's killer now go out on speaking tours is just...weird. How do you hug the guy who murdered your husband??

I don't believe in vengeance. I don't believe in an eye for an eye, but the man-child who did the killing MUST pay a price for what he did. He's out of jail, he served his time...but now he and the widow are a public speaking team? All this cause the parents of the brats couldn't keep their monsters under control?

It's a typically bad Lifetime movie, but the fact that this is based on a real situation and the real people show up at the end is just jaw dropping.

What some people won't do for their 15 minutes of fame!

I agree with you on some level about the parents. I was frustrating hearing their comments when they spoke about getting an attorney for a defamation suit. They acted as if their sons/daughters just could not be capable of committing such an act. I wonder what they felt after the arrests? They owed the wife (forgot her name) an apology.

As for her hugging the person who murdered her husband. Its called forgiveness. I'm sure the movie didn't highlight just how difficult it was for her to get to that point. The wife told the detective that he was just a kid. Though he was definitely old enough to realize his actions were horrific, the young man was remorseful. We don't know if she forgave him within a week or a couple of years. I believe the public speaking helps the both of them. They're both using this as a way to prevent it from happening to others. That's usually the best you can make of a bad situation.

Call it absurd but she's in a much better place instead harboring the anger. I admire her. Everyone might not be able to get to the place where she is if they were in the situation but I'm sure not knocking her for getting there.

Never do something permanently foolish just because you are temporarily upset!
