the city shown close to the end

What was that city? Not real I guess, mythical?

reply

I assumed Seattle.

It didn't look like Seattle, looked more like Portland

Definitely it is neither Seattle or Portland. There is a river and the mountains are so close. I bet it is a CGI of a hypothetical city somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. Movie info says it was filmed in couple towns of British Columbia so I suspect that the park scene is in Nelson.

reply

I assumed it was some place in Canada.

The city at the end is nowhere near Nelson in SE BC. There is a large memorial labelled The Great War, I don't know if the US has those. There are only seven large cities in western Canada, so I searched google images for Cenotaphs. The location is Regina, Manitoba.

In the opening, the aerial shot is Salmo. The train station is Nelson, but then main street Cold Rock is Ymir on the right, something else on the left. Interesting CGI mix of three locations.

The gas station diner is Centrex west of Salmo. The highway the van drives and crashes at night is Kokanee Creek Park. Don't know where that cave is, anyone?

reply

Ummmmmm Regina is in Saskatchewan not Manitoba. It's the capital city of Saskatchewan.
