We get Clarke and Deacon.

Somewhat misleading post. One can always pair talent with *beep* (Clarke and Deacon), but the truth is - there are terrible directors in every country.

Americans may have Scorsese and DeNiro, but we have Christopher Nolan and Ridley Scott.

reply

You cannot count Nolan and Scott at all. They don't take make British films, their souls are firmly in Hollywood.

Star Wars was filmed in the UK... what's your point?

Michael Powell, David Lean, Alfred Hitchcock, Nicolas Roeg.. Those brits have had their share of talent, no denying that.

you brits don't care for guy ritchie? anyway "clarke" was mentioned and i'm going to assume that was a reference to Noel Clarke. my first thought was that this would be another of his films maybe a light hearted one. he's not attached at all which makes me think that others are using the success of kid and adulthood to gain a potential audience. especially considering it's title of 'anuva' hood. or is someone other than deacon, someone with producer credits or the like attached? not that many british films gain an american audience to my knowledge, so i'm thinking it may be a cheap tactic / uncool thing to do to the credibility of those responsible for kidulthood and adulthood if this movie sucks. dunno, haven't seen it.

remember if you don't have anything nice to say ...you're probably an *beep*

It was called Anuvahood because it is a parody of the Kidulthood/Adulthood films, much in the same way that Menace II Society was parodied by Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood. Parodies sometimes use an element of the title of the films they parody.

And no, Noel Clarke wasn't attached to this piece of crap, but he is friends with Deacon.

I don't see why people didn't like this. It did it's job of making me laugh at a silly situation. You can tell from the poster that it's a comedy, so why all the hate.
