Looks like they took the background/psychological analysis scene where the girls sneak into the shelter owner's office was copied from Girl Interrupted.

shareYes, in fact the scene is exactly the same as it is in Girl Interrupted, even the character lines were the same. But then again this is a story that's been told many times in movie and Tv movies, yes it should be told over and over because it is reality that some kids go through this.
But they should have written that scene different and not exactly like in Girl Interrupted.
That's not the only scene that is similar to Girl Interrupted. Cassie reminds me a lot of Lisa by her dialogue, manner, and attitude and at one point invites Apple to live with her. Lisa obviously didn't have anywhere to go, but she did try to get Susanna to run away with her. In fact, I think the scenes where Cassie and Apple speak to each other reminds me of Girl Interrupted also. At times, Apple reminds me of Susanna. They both didn't really have good parents.
shareI didn't even have to hear them speak to each other. They made Cassie try and look like Lisa, and after watching Apple for a few minutes, yeah, she looks a bit like Susanna.
Sorry to everyone who says this is based off a true story, but this just does seem like a COMPLETE rip off of Girl, Interrupted with the exception being the story's premise (homeless young women who are pregnant, since if this had been during the days that Girl, Interrupted was set, it is more likely that the girls would have been committed to a mental hospital for their "indecency" so they simply set it in modern times to make it more plausible). Other than that, everything points to Girl, Interrupted.

now that i see this post it does remind me of the film but it didng during the scene and thats what counts. I was too engaged to notice. I dont feel its a rip off

It was also just weird to see Brendan Frasier older like that and in a father role with a kid old enough to have a kid. Makes me realize my age, lol.
