Transitioning completely away from football now?

After seeing the whole plot behind the Hawks getting rid of TK and him landing a spot in NJ with Coach Purnell, is the show transitioning away from the whole football storyline? I know the writers aren't writing out TK just yet being the upcoming drama with Sheera but it just seems like we're seeing less scenes on the field each episode.

TK is the only link to the football team at all. I don't think it'll totally transition away from football until at least this season is over with. But even if they did write TK off of the show, Dani would still work at a sports agency which represents a lot of football players.
