Telephone box made my day

At the first moment, I was really snorting with laughter when I saw the red phone box standing right in front of the castle. (they should have had a blue one, almost a Monty Python-ish joke). Later on, when they placed the "media center" right beside the phone box, I realised that this was the actual joke of it.
Overall I think that all those tiny details made the movie so loveable, beside those funny lines, James' 70th clothes (hilarious!) and all the local esprit.

From what I read here on the board, I get that you Brits don't have so many Rom Coms like this one, do you? - Relatively low budgeted, but full of charming local cliché and loveable characters? I am curious, in Germany we have lots of movies (mostly TV productions) like this.
