Just watched this for the first time and I'm totally baffled as to why a Scottish film studio that was shooting in Scotland, chose to cast a Scottish lead actor putting on an English accent.

Maybe I'm just mourning the absence of Tennant's all-too-repressed and gorgeous natural accent. Seriously though, what a waste.

It makes sense that he wouldn't have the scottish accent - it sets him apart from the people of Hegg.

I do love the scottish accent though.

It worked for him in Doctor Who so they thought why not for this.
