Amazing cinematography ...

... and incredulous story, even for action movie. It takes Special Force and perseverance for watching this movie till its end - mostly thanks to Pro behind camera. Djibouti and Tajikistan, as shooting places, have astonishing and breathtaking countryside's. This movie deserves Oscar for cinematography, reprimand for dumb script writing and life ban for directing war movies to incompetent director.

Lousy script - lousy movie, still no excuse for lousy combat scenes. Cast - Black African guy as commander of French SF team?? It would be practically impossible even for Africa mission and no way for Afghanistan. Token, artificial black characters, to satisfy mandatory "diversity" have always been Hollywood's peculiarity, why the hack French movie has to follow same "wisdom"??

After so many excellent war movies, this one with pompous title "Special Forces" should bear some authenticity with real life. Has been there any military adviser present??

Combat tactics were dumb and pompous, almost in Rambo moronic style. I suppose that most of us have seen authentic war fighting scenes shot by soldiers on site in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both sides maintain cover; often they hardly even see each other during fight. Spread and cover are basic rules for regular war fighters, not to mention Special Forces. Here they are often packed tight and keep standing as sitting ducks for enemy.

As of Taliban's, they wouldn't last that long, if they were as stupid as depicted in this move. Standing against two superpowers for decades tells something about them. Ahmed Zaief character is absolutely ridiculous.

IMHO, any rescue operation in such hostile and remote territory would take much more operators with sustained aerial support. Documentary scenes from Restrepo, Armadilo, Battle of Takur Ghar and many others just show us how shallow is script for this movie.

I would honestly appreciate if any real soldier or vet, "accidentally" combing thru these comments, would offer some insight on that matter.
