Very disappointed....Act of Valor was better

I think the trailers really misled me into watching this movie on Netflix. I was expecting something like Act of Valor mixed with Rambo. Now the drama in this movie and the acting are good but it ended up more like Saving Private Ryan than anything else with nearly all of the soldiers getting killed. If this is supposed to promote the French special forces like Act of Valor was supposed to promote the Navy SEALS and Chuck Norris's old classic Delta Force was supposed to showcase that outfit I can't believe this movie allowed the French soldiers to be massacred by the Islamic terrorists. This also turned into a natural survival story too.....maybe they should have had an attack by wild animals for good measures so they can pay homage to The Grey too.

I also find it unbelievable they were not armed with rockets and grenades (there was only ONE explosion set off by the soldiers) and the helicopter turned back way too easily. They had a distress signal so they should have gone in heavily armed with missiles and machine guns on that chopper. That would have wiped out the entire terrorist force in mere seconds. So the terrorists fire ONE missile at the chopper and they all turn back? And I don't really believe a team would get stranded that easily and lose communication just like that.

And the two Afghan villagers at the last burial site, why didn't they get help for the troops?

I DO have to compliment the filmmakers however in being willing to show Islamic terrorists as the villains. Hollywood is too liberal and Obama loving to do that. Very few American movies made after 9-11 had Islamic terrorists. I think Act of Valor was the only truly pro-American film where the bad guys are jihadis. There are other films like Iron Man 1 and Vantage Point where they had Middle Eastern terrorists but didn't stress the Islamic connection or Allah. This film IS honest in its portrayal of how women are treated as property under sharia law. Very understanding as France has a lot of illegal immigration from Arab and Muslim nations and they want to bring this B.S. into Europe.
