Anybody going to see it this upcoming weekend?

I might with one of my friends because he's a pretty big fan of Statham and this looks a little better than some of his recent movies. Still, it just looks like another Statham movie.

Why have a civilization if we are no longer interested in being civilized?

I like Statham, and this looks pretty good, but I'm gonna contribute my money to The Raven that weekend.

I plan to see it. Honestly I don't mind it being just another Jason Statham movie. I try to be a good film fan and pursue interesting content, etc., etc., but if I'm going to recline and enjoy a bit of cinematic fast food, "Jason Statham Kicking Ass" is one of my favorite options. I do wish he could find more interesting films (I know he'll never headline a Paul Thomas Anderson drama, but it would be cool to see him play to his strengths in a project by, say, Michael Mann or Paul Greengrass or Quentin Tarantino), but this will do for now.

I'm interested in each of Friday's new wide releases, to be honest. Pirates! is my first choice, then this. The Raven I'm losing interest in because of the SAVAGE reviews, though my affection for Poe and period horror films in general may draw me in anyway. The Five-Year Engagement is a film I'm sure will be sweet and amusing, though I've grown slightly tired of Jason Segel and his whole "amiable-slob-charmer" screen presence.

(Sound of My Voice is also opening at a nearby art-house, so I wouldn't mind catching it as well.)
