Ex-Con burns $10 million
Yeah, right ...
I stopped watching the trailer at his point.
Yes the characters in the movie are reckless, stupid and immoral. Reckless and immoral can work in movies. But if they are stupid too, it becomes pointless.
shareAside from the lame trailer voiceover, it seemed kind of interesting until you get to the awful plot device of, "He burned 10 million dollars?" Lost it. Ok. Burned it?? So, he just expected the government to financially secure a bunch of money he stole? First of all, no one would do that. Second, if someone did do that you would think they're the biggest moron ever. Give it to charity if you don't want to keep it. Give it back to the bank if you have regrets. But, burn it? So, he's going to steal 10 million more? Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
shareJust seen the movie and his reason for burning the money made sense -> being caught WITH the money would get him a bigger sentence than being caught WITHOUT the money, therefore money has to go. He only had a few mins (if that) before the cops came in so "popping down to the local LOROS shop and making a donation was kinda outta the question".
Now, being able to burn $10mill in a nearby oil rub fire without leaving ANY evidence whatsoever, now THAT'S something to question.
Also, at the end, after seeing him "throw the gold into the lake", methinks those two cops wouldn't just sail away, they'd be all like "ok, now lets ring some police divers so we can retrieve the stolen property and return it". But no..
