Okay premise, sloppy execution

The plot description seems like a pretty cool action flick starring Nic Cage but the execution was plain sloppy.

The film's pace goes by way too quick and there are several details that make no sense. First off, if the daughter was under 18 there'd be an Amber Alert. The film tried to have "substance" but just felt really cheesy.

I am a fan of Nic Cage and I think he is a good actor, but is sadly typecast into these action movies which he accepts the roles for because he is broke. In some of the action movies he has this quirky, funny, and out-there type of personality which usually makes it entertaining to watch even if the movie as a whole was bad, Stolen lacked that.

And I'm curious of what you guys think of Josh Lucas playing the bad guy. I thought he was awful.
