'Stolen' another word for...

"Taken"!

reply

I can't get over the fact that this film exists. The death of Hollywood?

reply

a terrible Nicholas cage film, that no one is going to go see, is not going be the death of Hollywood.

reply

hollywood does not care if it is dead...as long as it's still making money

and as long as it is making money it is not dead.

reply

This film is gonna rule, like all Nic Cage films, because everything THE CAGE does is EPIC!

reply

Even Season of the Bitch, Cockblock Dangerous, and Drive Horny (while entertaining, is an objectively horrible movie in every way)? That's barely even listing a few...

reply

Dont you mean ANOTHER terrible Nicholas cage film?

reply

not terrible at all. Quite a good and enjoyable movie

reply

Ha Ha!! I TOTALLY agree! Nidiculous Cage movies are for the most part as terrible as his droning voice and his "Cagey" monotonous acting skills.

My God !! It's full of stars....

reply

The last Cage movie I really liked was "Lord of War". Since then, he's pretty much tanked.

reply

Agreed, from Lord of War it has all been downhill. Nowadays he'll just make any old *beep* that is lobbed his way. Now I like Jason Statham but it says alot that he eventually passed on this 'project'.

Kickass??

reply

What a crappy film! Cage is doing a lot of these lately. Film makes the FBI look really, really inept.

reply

Because I just voted on 'Stolen' iMDB sugested another Cage film soon to be released 'Tokarev' - have a read of the plot, you won't quite believe it!!!

reply

Yeah look at the poster even, it looks like a joke, just look at his face on it.

reply

let's be honest for the most part in the past few years you can use the fact whether Nicholas Cage is in a movie or not to decide if most people with standards would like it. I however have low standards and he's weirdly likeable to me for some reason so I usually watch them all and at least get a laugh every few cringes. this really has no bearing on the death of movies in general at all, everyone knows he will do any movie offered to him and most of the other actors in this movie aren't really far from that point either.

Dumb. As if Taken is the first movie to involve kidnapping.

reply

If a film, called 'Stolen', is about a father who obviously kicks ass trying to recover his kidnapped daughter chooses to waddle in self pity into theatres, people can't help but notice one or two small similarities...

A film called 'Taken', is about a father who obviously kicks ass trying to recover his kidnapped daughter. Need I say more?

In my opinion, 'Taken' was soul-crushingly bad. Everybody seems to adore that film, and everyone seems to want Liam Neeson as a father. Yes, I can see that, in a situation whether a child will call on their father for guidance, not in the most unrealsitic situation i.e. Getting kidnapped in a foreign country where you happen get kidnapped the minute you set foot, whilst you happen to be on the phone, to your father who happens to be an ex-CIA agent. Why do people want a father like that?
First, to truly appreciate such a father, they must put themselves into that particular situation (of being kidnapped). Highly unrealistic. Only stupid people like that movie - unless you crave crappy movies - because they're too dumb to notice the zero character development, horrible pacing, sh!tty dialogue:

"I'll tear down the eiffel tower if I have too!"

And not to mention, bad acting. Scratch that; Poor acting. Neeson was unconvincingly thrown into jaw-crushing father, from a anxious, tired old man. YES, I'm aware that he had the expirience, but my god, such a transition hurts my throat more the yeast.

Back to the point, a film can ride as freely as it chooses too. Sadly, sometimes they shouldn't, but do.

Actually this movie's poster is hilarious. It's the quintessential Nic Cage movie.
Him running away from an explosion, going thru another bad hair day, and the words: "12 hours, $10 million, 1 kidnapped daughter"

Here are some ideas for future titles:

Nicolas Cage in:

"Abducted"
"Snitched"
"Robbed"
"Diverted"
"Hijacked"
"Misappropriated"

reply

"12 hours, $10 million, 1 kidnapped daughter"

Equals 23, The Number 23, and I can already see his face painted with numbers and that confused look on his face (doesn't know whether he farted or shat...)

Only movies that are worth watching: http://www.rabbit-reviews.com

reply

Don't forget about:

"Duped"
"Mugged"
"Ripped off"
"Plagiarized"
"Borrowed, Permanently...Without Permission"

reply

Would be so much better if it was made by The Asylum and starred Paul Logan and Tiffany.

reply

Look at the German DVD cover, very subtle...

It's not "the death of Hollywood", this is just another unimportant flick from Hollywood.
This is more like the "death of Nicholas Cage", because instead of proving the "Cage-hate" wrong, he's only basically "feeding the trolls" (as they say) with crap like this.
I mean, why the heck does he keep doing flicks like this when he can be doing more significant and actually good movies? He's NOT a bad actor, but he should keep his face away from nonsense like this.
Someone once said that his bit in 'Kick-Ass' was the best thing he had done since a long time, and I felt it was exactly right, cause in that role he brought some uniqueness with his own talent. Which was not going along with another action-flick.
If I were him, I'd fire his agent or whoever makes sure he gets hired, because he's better than this, it's just a waste of opportunities and time.

Also, where the heck is 'National Treasure 3'?... That's a very good franchise.
I'm hoping it's not undergoing the same fate as the "Mummy"-franchise, with first two very good movies and then a third stinker, now being rebooted into something more serious. But although Cage isn't super-special in that, he makes a great main character. He's not trying to be all this badass action-hero. He's likeable, he's charming, funny and he also does action on the side.
He should do a lot more "charming" stuff and be more creative and inventive, which is when about any good actor delivers good performances.
Cause, I mean, we're all tired of generic mediocre movies, and I just can't believe he keeps doing this. It's like he lets the public's criticism get to him and actually form him into what they say he is.
I see this happen more often and it's too sad.

Because obviously those "significant" "good movie" producers aren't calling his number, and the man still has to eat.

Actually, the title refers to the 96 minutes of your life that you're never getting back.
