gold scene (spoilers)

someone wanna tell me why the gold scene wouldnt work?

what temp does it melt?
what temp does it become a solid?
how heavy is that amount of gold?

etc etc

also, if he's burning a hole in the vault anyway, why not just reach in and grab it instead of setting the alarm off!? and what bank has easy access like that under a vault?! and why didnt they do that 8 years ago anyway!? and why is the gold still in the same place!? and ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

reply

Because Hollywood has become a pathetic shell of its former self.

Actually 10 000 000 $ in gold (at around 40$ per gramm) weighs around 250 kilos/550 pounds. There is no way he was carrying more than 50 kilos in that bag. And that piece he was waving around at the end should have weight around 15 kilos, so no way he was throwing it like that in the water.
Kinda like the gold load in Die hard 3.

I arrrghed all thru this movie
But the gold has me stumped

Did he give all back except this missing 10 lbs?

I kept doing the math afterwards obsessively
And :
10 lbs of gold = $265,000 +
Nice but... not this outrageous amount
Did I miss ...anything...??
