Made $5,000 at the box office

No, that's not a typo.

It's not meant to be $5,000,000. It actually is five thousand dollars.

That's probably less than the catering alone for the film. Just the salads and sandwiches, and bottled water. That no doubt cost more than the box office gross of the film.

My guess is Famke won't be directing any more movies.

I'm not sure you entirely understand the business model for little indie films like this.

The film was probably budgeted under $500K with all actors working for scale (they also filmed it in only 20 days).

The theatrical release was probably nothing more than a token release for some press with the main source of income from VOD, dvd, foreign sales, and tv sales (Milla Jovovich is very popular in some big markets like Russia). The film was also licensed to Netflix and will be up there soon.

And Famke already has multiple scripts written and I'm fairly sure she will be directing again in the next several years.

Wellllll.... based on this movie, let's HOPE Famke won't be putting out any more films in the next several years.

Somehow, reading this makes me sad. (Not sarcasm.)
