Peice of sh*t

It's just a bad movie. The black and white picture, and no sounds are nothing spectacular, so the film feels empty/hollow and cheap. It's overrated and overpraised.....bad film 1/10 .

Nevare88: "And yet it's critically acclaimed and has reached a very respectable 8.0/10. Odd that."

and presently, Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey is defending the critically panned Sea of Trees at the Cannes, so what does that say for 'critical acclaim'?

How about a big 00/00? That IS odd.

When the critics don't like it, we disagree with them.

I still recall Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel weren't thrilled with Star Wars just as it came out.

It was the worst best picture in a while.

Films that are metaphorical and sublime find no allies amongst the philistines.

Generally this is the only reason movies such as this win and get nominated, is so people who don't automatically buy into it's being spectacular can be regarded as 'philistines' and beneath those open-minded individuals who can appreciate the movie's beauty, depth and scope.

Ah, well.

You sir are a piece of sh*t.

You might think so, if you don't understand what the movie is about and are not a movie buff, and unaware of the historical aspects of film.

It's a moving depiction of what happened during the transition from silent to talking films at the beginning of the film era in our country. It's a flashback movie.

Maybe Transformers will be more to your liking. Lots of noise in that one. And the newest Godzilla movie (Jurassic World).

....says the person who gives "Life of Pi" a 1, and "Inception" a 3.

You see, it goes both ways, some movies we hate some movies we love.

Maybe you did not know what they were about...that why the low score ?!

Let us hate a movie if we dont like it, like you do too.

Musicians today are experiencing what movie stars in the 20's must have... meaning, going from silent to talking films must have been just as difficult for many as offline to online musicians... the Youtube experience is a far cry from the street corner... I can empathize, as I work harder to make the transition myself with my second album.

Thanks for letting us know what you are, and what you have for a brain (you misspelled piece.)

Well, I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
