Very close to Blonde

I didn't read Collins diary, but the depiction of Marilyn in that film is very close to the one in Joyce Carol Oates' Blonde. And as in the book it is both interesting and feels simplistic: daddy issues, not loved by her mother, cinema actor vs theater actor, authenticity vs acting, Marylin the star vs her true self, etc. Nothing new here and nothing very convincing...
