Debra Mailman

Has one of the funniest scenes in this movie. In the scene where we first meet her character at the mental institution and she tells shaz that she has personality disorder and she goes up to the lady in the window and starts going off at her saying something like ' what's *beep* wrong with having a personality disorder?' And the crazy lady standing next to her is like *beep* nuffin'. OMG I pissed myself laughing for like 10 mins, I rewound that part like 3 times. The best ever!!

Yeah my fave was the 'my boomerang won't come back!' with the next-door neighbour lmfao!

Not being Australian, I didn't really understand the significance of that song about the boomerang. I gathered that it was probably a racist reference to aboriginals, but could someone who knows explain the song a bit more?

This is Wiki, though!

I think the character was making fun of herself in order to shock the neighbour.

Thanks for the link. Wow, what a strange and politically incorrect song!

Never heard of that song here in Canada.

I'm Australian and don't recall ever hearing it… but then again I was born after it's release, and by the seventies they definitely would not have been playing it on the radio. Also the song was released in Britain first (as the artist was a British comedian), which would explain why it may be more well known there than here (?)

"My boomerang won't come back" was a comic song by English comedian Charlie Drake in the early 1960s, probably poking fun at Rolf Harris.
