The Ending

I quite enjoyed this movie but the end bit (methane and lighter) actually ruined it for me...I do not see the point of having her do that in the scene - maybe someone can enlighten me?

It didn't even seem to be something you would expect the character to do, she may have been 'bogan' but I didn't see her as ferel...

Thoughts?

It was established that she was "mental", remember? And unlikely to stick to what was conventional. This was a mad act admittedly but against a character that she had taken a dislike to - and had reneged on her commitment to visit her sister's family regularly for tea. The ultimate revenge would be to ruin her "babies" - the bare arse was just to add to the humilation. Mad, but understandable, IMO.

You found lighting a fart on fire to be too much, but you're fine with people wiping menstrual blood all over someone's chairs? Haha! Just kidding! Yeah, it's not exactly a classy thing to do, but I think it was just Shaz's way of getting one last shot at that dreadful sister. I thought it was quite fitting, actually, considering how horrible she was!

Karma is a "mad b*tch" with a lighter!

I loved it!

Question about the ending...did liev live? I got the impression not but Toni did. Was that to be left up to one's imagination?

reply

was wondering that as well

I don't think Trevor survived, he was under water too long. Shaz couldn't untangle him. He looked dead when she let go of his hand.

I didn't mind the whole lighter and fart? What I DIDN'T like, is how she just runs outside and up the road. It just feels hollow. Like a.... sort of empty victory.

Her and her husband sorted out their problem, they let their daughter go. Sure he 'drowned' as we saw it, but she 'lived'. Why can he not too?

I was hoping we'd see her and the dog run out, run to the road and jump into his car, and he'd say something like 'What did you have to do babe?' and she'd say something like 'Oh you know, give a reminder to an old friend who broke a promise!' and they'd just drive off to wherever. A happier ending for her.

He might have survived, I think she'd be back inside otherwise.
I liked that there wasn't a straight answer.
