but besides that this has little to offer

I gave it a two simply because she's in it. Utter tripe, otherwise.

That is the only reason I watched it and the only good thing about it. Well I did think the knife salesman/speacial forces guy was funny, but with out Kath is was basically total failhttp://lorddixiesblog.blogspot.com/

reply

So...worse than Ogre? Maybe I should skip it, because I really don't want to have to ask her to apologize for another movie.

reply

Actually, the movie's just fine. It's a solid throwback to the drive-in flicks of the 70s that never takes itself too seriously. It would've played perfectly as the anchor of a grindhouse double feature. Katharine's rather great in it, in fact.

And the only person who should ask for an apology is Katharine for having to deal with a douchebag "fan" like you who lacks even the most basic social graces. A word of advice: keep your moronic mouth shut when you see her at conventions in the future. Classless idiots like you are the reasons actors quickly tire of making public appearances. Nobody cares about your opinion, so zip your foolish lip and keep it to yourself.

You're not a fan. You're an a** hole who should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing how to behave in public.

reply

Funny...because she and I have gotten along rather well the four times we've spoken to one another. I know that she has the grace and class to not simply tell someone that they are being an ass, so it is possible that she was just being polite. We would have to ask her, and I'd like to think that her life is full enough of meaningful events that she couldn't be bothered to remember.

You launched a personal attack at me, and for what reason? Ogre is a bad movie that I thoroughly did not enjoy. She did it so she could work with Brendan Fletcher again (they are apparently very close friends), which is why she didn't apologize for it. On the other hand, she was more than pleased that I thought she did a kick-ass job in Falling Angels. Neither one of use seemed all that bothered by the discussion.

Your brief message board history is one of attacking others because their opinion is different that yours. To be fair, that is where many start, so I would prefer to not hold that against you. And I think that you misunderstand the word ask to mean demand. It most assuredly doesn't.

But I think you need to realize that working actors know they sometimes take roles or appear in projects that disappoint them. Tony Todd had no problem pointing out that there were films of which he wasn't proud. John Mahoney didn't mind my questioning his choice to appear in Striking Distance. Brian Dennehy wasn't offended by my opinion that the performance I saw of Long Day's Journey into Night sputtered and stalled near the end (though this had nothing to do with Mr. Dennehy's performance -- he was awesome). I think that all of the actors and (mostly stage) directors with whom I have spoken about their work know that I am not a professional, but my experience is that many of them like being able to discuss their work.

Which happened at a number of conventions, right? I must admit to finding great amusement when people ramble on about how well they got along with an actor based on those incredibly brief interactions that occur when they're shelling over money for an autograph.

I know that she has the grace and class to not simply tell someone that they are being an ass, so it is possible that she was just being polite.

Replace “it is possible” with “in all likelihood.”

You launched a personal attack at me, and for what reason?

I thought I made that abundantly clear – because you happily admitted to acting like a douchebag while meeting an actress whose work you profess to like. Because you behaved like a fool and are now attempting to obfuscate the fact that you ignored politeness and common decency. Strangely though, you seem to be of two minds about this.

In fact, let’s look at one of your past postings on Katharine's board:

“So, yeah, I was an a**hole and mocked her taking Hard Ride to Hell to her face at the Cherry Hill, NJ convention. Didn't bring it up again at the Rosemont, IL convention (too busy demanding an apology for Ogre).”

By your own admission, you acted like an a**hole, yet you now take offense at being labeled one by someone else? Might want to get your facts straight – it’ll help you in future debates.

Ogre is a bad movie that I thoroughly did not enjoy. She did it so she could work with Brendan Fletcher again (they are apparently very close friends), which is why she didn't apologize for it.

No, she didn't apologize for it because she doesn't owe you an apology for anything whatsoever.

What you’re so obviously missing in your attempt to rationalize your pathetic behavior is the simple fact that you’re not owed any sort of apology for not liking a film. One of the most unfortunate aspects of the internet is the ridiculous sense of fanboy entitlement that it fosters. Newsflash: no one forced you to watch the film, and it wasn’t made with you in mind specifically. You watched it of your own free will; your viewing choices are your own.

Nobody responsible for a film you didn’t like owes you a thing. You’re entitled to nothing. You have no right to ask for an apology, no matter how much you argue to the contrary, no matter if an actor has admitted that they didn’t love a particular project. Doing so in a public forum marks you as someone lacking the most basic understanding of courtesy and manners. The fact that you so bafflingly don’t understand what you did wrong doesn’t serve to damn you any less. You were a jerk. Accept it. YOU owe HER an apology for your lack of comportment, end of story.

Your brief message board history is one of attacking others because their opinion is different that yours.

Incorrect. I’ve attacked people who lack the wherewithal to form a coherent opinion beyond the typically hyperbolic internet exclamations of “this actor sucks” or “worst movie ever.” Unfortunately, this is part of parcel of posting on the IMDB, as it’s mostly filled with foolish shouters. I’ve posted on and off here for quite a bit longer than you suggest and finally gave up on it a few years ago due to the lack of genuine discussion. This latest return sadly proves that things haven’t changed.

To be fair, that is where many start, so I would prefer to not hold that against you.

Gasp! I just don’t know what I’d do if an anonymous internet poster whose awful behavior I rightfully called out as such held that against me! Perish the thought! And thanks for the “this is where many start” shtick, but I’ve got a long history of dealing with tactless boors like yourself both on the IMDB and elsewhere. I don't suffer fools gladly, but I do take some pleasure in steamrolling their half-baked arguments. Really, people like you make it so easy.

And I think that you misunderstand the word ask to mean demand. It most assuredly doesn't.

You fail to comprehend that it doesn’t make any difference. You’re playing a game of semantics to justify the fact that, by your own admission, you don’t know how to comduct yourself in public. Mocking someone for taking a role in a film you haven’t even seen and then asking them to apologize for a film you didn’t like is without a doubt the behavior of an arrogant ass.

But here's the funniest part... please note that in the above quote of yours I pulled from her other board, you most certainly used the word “demand.” I even bolded it to jog your woefully unreliable memory. For God’s sake, if you’re going to continue with this laughably defensive justification, the least you can do is pay attention to your own original wording.

But then again, I suppose this sort of ignorance is to be expected here. As always, the internet provides a perpetual podium for people to expound on subjects of which they have little knowledge. Again, you should be ashamed of yourself. And you should certainly learn some basic social graces so you don't end up embarrassing yourself in front of a celebrity again.

No need to reply, as while you're certainly defensive, you have no genuine defense to offer. And the ignorance you display of your own posts negates your attempt at an argument.

Thanks for doing my job for me.

I don't know which concerns me more. That you are apparently unaware of self-deprecating humor, that you viciously attack others, or that you seem to have a delusion in which you are the protector of a pair of Canadian actresses.

There is nothing about you (from what you have evidenced here) which I can take seriously.

Good luck in life.

Thanks for the misguidedly condescending well wishes, but I'm already having a fine life. I just happen to get additional enjoyment from dismantling your absurd defense -- ooh, but it was all just self-deprecating humor, right? Like the other poster said, that's the most childish justification possible (not to mention a painfully unsophisticated attempt at humor). The behavior you speak of is a** holish. You ADMITTED that you acted like an a** hole in another post. You claim that you "asked," rather than "demanded," yet you used the word "demanded" in the aforementioned post. You can't even keep track of the things you say from post to post.

There's nothing in my posts whatsoever that implies me considering myself a "protector." The fact that you're forced to ascribe a non-existent motivation to me proves that you have no defense because my argument actually MAKES SENSE. I'm not laboring under the delusion that I'm protecting anyone. However, I have an obvious assurance that I can easily trample the arguments of the foolish, as has been abundantly proven here.

Your hysterical claim that you "can't take me seriously" translates as the fact that you can't adequately respond. So you predictably turn tail and run, once again living up to the IMDB stereotype. The fact is, you can't offer any sort of serious argument that doesn't make you come off like a dick. You still insist that you did nothing wrong. Talk about being delusional.

Wanna hear something funny? After your latest riposte, I'd now be willing to lay down money on the fact that you NEVER said what you claimed to say to Katharine. Based on this rapid, tail-between-your-legs departure, I don't believe for a second that you ever mocked her to her face, nor that you either "demanded" or "asked" for an apology. From everything you've exhibited here, you don't have it in you. All you've done is display the false bravado and blatant exaggeration that is sadly so typical of insecure internet braggers.

So I'm not only calling you an a** hole.

I'm calling you a liar.

I'd wish you good luck in life as well, but all the luck in the world can't help someone with a basic lack of character.

The movie was decent and when I found it on The Movie Channel I had to check it out. I thought it was a all right movie. Now if USA UP ALL NIGHT or Monster Vision was still on this movie would become a cult classic I bet with fans like myself because it would have the exposure that we want to see. It would be one of them films that I would watch on USA UP ALL NIGHT back during the 80's and 90's late on a Friday and Saturday night.

Yes the knife salesman who was special forces made it worth while to watch. He was trying to save all of them which added some action to the movie.

I liked the topless scenes that they had in the film. The ladies in the film made it worth while to watch even though it was not the best movie to watch though.

I thought it was a okay movie to watch but not really the best film though. Yes Ms. Katharine Isabelle is a very attractive woman to look at and it was great to see her in this film.

Come check out my Facebook page for my first film that I wrote in June called "THE POSSESSION OF INNOCENCE". Find out who has been casted and all for the film. I am working hard to make this happen. Thank you for your time, your help, and support.
