The movie was better than the book...

It don't think I've ever encountered this, but I thought the movie was better than the book. The book was too long, boring in parts, weird in others, etc. The book also had no ending, and he never met back up with the girl on the bridge. The movie was better, and the cast was great.

Yes, actually I tend to agree with your take!! It may be that some parts of the book I found hard to visualize, where as the movie gave them more 'life.' The only part of the book the movie skipped, that I liked & wanted to see explored, was where the student came to help him with his 'research.' What could have happened there? The girl was obviously taken with him...I expected him to 'research' her!

Yes i found the book boring and as you say overly long and the ending was different!
I got the impression Raymond didnt take the train back to Berne and went off with the optician who opened his eyes - literally and figuratively!

Its uncle Frank Kirsty!
Its time to play!
