The Mulan of Music

Ah these movies crop up from time to time. There's already one coming out later this year or next about the controversy that someone else wrote Shakespeare's plays. What now, is this movie trying to portray Wolfgang Amadeus' early work as the work of his sister instead ?

The description says she was just pushed to the side. She was no longer able to perform because her brother was becoming more popular, but it won't discredit Mozart.

Everyone at the party loved it! They though it was edgy!

Mozart's street cred remains intact. Joy!

Mozart's sister was, indeed, a virtuoso, and biographies do tell of her compositions and how extraordinary she was at the harpsichord, as divined through correspondence of the time. The movie makes the father push her aside but doesn't really go into the social reasons too much. Simply put, the time period would have never allowed her to progress as a composer. She was basically born two hundred years too early.
