I don't get it -Spoilers-
I'm slow, so prehaps someone can clear this up for me:
If Chris/Jerry were in charge of the mess the whole time (and actually meeting with the terrorists as it showed) why bother hiring the main character to do anything?

Couldn't they have just asked the terrorists?

If they wanted to make sure all the 'nefarious' stuff was difficult to discover it doesn't make sense to hire someone out of 'the know' to be the one to keep tabs on things.
Plus, they weren't CIA.

But it clearly wasn't easier to manipulate them since everything fell to hell in the end. Wouldn't it have just been easier to keep everything between a few 'in-the-know' individuals?
shareThe only reason he became involved in the terrorist plot at all was because he chose to follow the Muslim instead of the woman on his first mission. They were trying to scare/kill him from that point on.
